This year, the school doors will open at 7:50am. There are no teachers on duty before 7:50am, so students cannot be dropped off before this time.

Students will head straight to their classrooms.

We have a breakfast snack cart with some light snack items (cheese strings, apples, etc.) and any student is welcome to take an item with them to their classroom to have before instruction begins.

The driveway at the front of the school facing Priestman Street is for school buses, day care buses, and emergency vehicles.

The student drop-off lane is located off York Street. Enter the drop-off lane at the crosswalk and pull down the entire length of the drop-off lane to allow others to park behind you. Students are to exit on the right-hand side of your vehicle. Please do not have your child exit on the left-hand side of your vehicle as they will be in the drop-off lane traffic, which is extremely dangerous. The drop-off lane is meant for quick and efficient drop-offs where the student exits, and the parents remain in their vehicle. If you need extra time or if your child requires assistance to exit the vehicle, or help getting their backpack on, etc., please do not use the drop-off lane. Proceed to the lower parking lot where there is ample parking space for you to take the time you and your child require.

At 8:05am, the doors to the school will be locked for safe arrivals. If you are arriving after 8:05am, please park your vehicle in the lower parking lot off York Street and walk around the building to the front door to sign your child in late at the office. Children are not permitted to walk around the building on their own as it is unsafe.

Dismissal is at 2:20pm each day. Bus and after-school daycare students are dismissed at the front of the building. Walkers and students being picked up are dismissed behind the school on the playground. When picking up your child, you need to park your vehicle legally either in the parking lot off York Street or along Lisgar Street. Please walk onto the playground and make contact with your child’s teacher when picking up. Students are not permitted to run across the playground to a parent who is waiting on the outside of the fence or to a parent who is still in their vehicle.

Please always respect handicap parking spaces. If you require the use of one of these spaces, please ensure your parking permit is visible.

If you have any questions about the drop-off or pick-up routine, please contact the office and we’d be happy to help you.

Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and smooth!
